One of our most favorite parks is Burfoot, which is a Thurston County park. It has a great play structure, and the best part is the trails down to the water. The trail is not stroller friendly - it is all hills and stairs but only for 20-30 minutes. I think this trail can be done by a toddler on foot. The trail goes through lovely environments and has a great beach access, and if you get it at low tide, great tide pooling. It's a great spot for a picnic, albeit a bit of a drive to get to.
This beach is included in the South Sound Estuary Association's
Beach Naturalist program and has volunteers all summer talking about the critters and available to answer questions on the ocean.
